Outrigger Safaris and Village Guesthouses

Discover the fascinating coastal Solomon Sea village life of Oro Province, village hopping along the coast. The villagers have built traditional guest houses that you stay in, often situated right by the beach under the palm trees overlooking beautiful blue seas that you can snorkel and swim in. Your hosts will catch fresh fish and sometimes lobster for evening meals, which will be complemented with village vegetables and fruit. Breakfasts will also be supplied by the villagers.

You will be able to interact with the villagers and see first-hand how they live. They will give you a window into their lives and culture, take you around their village, show you their traditions, vegetable gardens, and local points of beauty. This may be walking to a headland or canoeing to a waterfall, depending on the village. You can go fishing with them or try your hand at lobster catching. If a dugout is being built, you can lend a hand. This is an opportunity you will not find anywhere else in Papua New Guinea.

Due to flights only operating on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons, the best way to experience this is over eight nights. For parties of four, we can quote on a case-by-case basis using charter flights, thus negating the need to overnight in Port Moresby at either end.  Using scheduled flights, the tour can run either Sunday to Monday or Friday to Saturday.
